Our Parenting World, Gor Gor is invited by Chengzhu Mandarin Centre for its Language skills programme for Primary School. The centre is part of the renowned Julia Gabriel Centre which specialises in nurturing and educating children from 6 months old onwards.
Gor Gor says: “I am here at Chengzhu Mandarin Centre and I am eager to start my lessons!”
About the class, it starts off with games to test the students their knowledge and it is a revision of what they have learnt. It gets the students interested and many of them are doing their best to score as many points as they can. The teacher is lively and patient in helping and explaining to the students how the words are formed and how to pronounce them correctly.
Once the game is finished, the students get down to doing worksheets. The teacher will ask each student to read a paragraph of the comprehension. Each student gets to develop their oral skills and are encouraged to do so by the teacher as she will help and guide the student along in reading.
Gor Gor reading to the teacher. Oral is an important component in today’s education. Encouraging the students to read, enhances their vocabulary, improves their communication and confidence in speaking Mandarin.

Each lesson, the student will be tested on their knowledge by practising on the worksheets. The teacher will be helping and guiding them along on doing the worksheets. The whole lessons is very interactive, students are encouraged to speak up and most importantly, the teacher makes the whole process comfortable and enjoyable for the students to do so.
