This November, Mama White Snake, the 15th edition of W!LD RICE’s annual must-see holiday musical will make its world premiere at the Drama Centre Theatre. In this playful, funny retelling of ancient Chinese folk tale Madam White Snake, long-time collaborators and best friends Glen Goei and Ivan Heng will take to the stage to play the celestial snakes of legend.
This brand new production will see Ivan Heng & Glen Goei appear on stage together for the FIRST time ever. This original musical will also mark Glen Goei’s long-awaited return to the Singapore stage after 30 years.
Directed by Pam Oei, Mama White Snake features a sparkling script by Alfian Sa’at and a delightful score by Elaine Chan. For the first time in 30 years, Glen Goei returns to the Singapore stage in the title role forming a celestial sister act with Ivan Heng as Green Snake. Together, they lead a stellar cast that includes Siti Khalijah Zainal, Zelda Tatiana Ng, Cheryl Tan, Andrew Marko and the First Stage Kids.
