Universal Studios Singapore has unveiled its latest attraction, Illumination’s Minion Land, which officially opened to guests today, February 14, 2025. This new addition marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) as Asia’s premier lifestyle destination. Drawing inspiration from the beloved Despicable Me and Minions franchises, Minion Land offers an array of attractions, dining options, and exclusive merchandise.
Highlights include Buggie Boogie, an exclusive attraction at Universal Studios Singapore featuring the first-ever Minion dance party-themed carousel, as well as the Super Hungry Food Stand, the all-new, larger-than-film version of the waterfront snack stand from Despicable Me. The grand opening was celebrated with much fanfare, featuring the Minions, Gru, and his family in a joyful and laughter-filled event, all set against a backdrop of cheerful yellow balloons and a cascade of confetti.

Created in partnership between Universal Creative, Universal’s award-winning creative team, the acclaimed filmmakers from Illumination, and RWS, Minion Land boasts three distinct areas: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighborhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.
Minion Marketplace: Guests can explore three unique stores offering a wide range of Minion-themed merchandise and sweet treats. The candy-themed Sweet Surrender features apparel, plush toys, homeware, confections, and other fun souvenirs. Pop Store showcases the latest fashion items with a Minion twist, while Fun Store is filled with accessories and toys galore.
Gru’s Neighborhood: Home to Gru, Lucy, and the girls—Margo, Edith, and Agnes—this area features the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride, where guests embark on an unpredictable journey through Gru’s supervillain laboratory and experience the transformation into a Minion. Throughout the day, the Minions take over the street in the all-new “Minute of Minion Mayhem” show, along with meet-and-greet sessions with fan-favourite characters.
Super Silly Fun Land: Inspired by the seaside carnival from Despicable Me, this area offers the Buggie Boogie carousel, where guests can dance to popular songs remixed by DJ Carl, and the Silly Swirly ride, allowing guests to soar through the sky. Additional fun includes the Space Killer game booth, modeled after the “Super Silly Space Killer” arcade game from the film, and Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa, where flipping bananas could earn rewards from the Minions. To satisfy cravings, the Super Hungry Food Stand serves a lineup of delicious dishes themed after the Despicable Me and Minions films, including the Unlucky Ducky Creamy Chicken Stew, Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage, Super Silly Veggie Burger, and Mini Boss Lunch Box. Guests can also stop by Pop-A-Nana for Minion-inspired popcorn flavours.
