{New Show Review: The Legendary Shaolin Monks performing at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands}
Many of us would have heard of Shaolin Temple originated from Dengfeng County, Henan Province in China, it is famous for its legendary martial arts. Now we have to opportunity to see the Shaolin monks live in action in Singapore from 13 July to 31 July 2016 at MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sand.
Shaolin Kung Fu also known as 少林功夫 in Chinese is world famous and has a rich history of 1500 years! Audience can look forward to visually stunning display of flawless fighting skills that combines the rich traditional Shaolin Kung Fu together with perfect choreography that comes with dramatic lighting and sound that will blow you away in this spectacular show.
The show will take the audience through a journey of mystical history of the ancient tradition of fighting art where the highly skilled 20 cast members will perform stunning fighting skills which includes demonstrating the beautiful movements of Chi Gong & Tai Chi using weapons in well choreographed combat demonstrations. Audience can look forward to be impressed with the incredible stunts performed by the Shaolin Masters.

Having watched so many Kung Fu TV shows and movies, we are excited to see Shaolin masters performed real Kung Fu live! We are impressed with the cast performing lighting fast movement with such speed and agility. With incredible strength and physical endurance to perform dangerous stunts like carrying buckets full of water and walking barefoot on sharp axe heads, lifting heavy objects or perform handstands on two finger tips, break bricks on their heads, flying through the air in series of incredible back flips, laying down on beds of nails with one monk on top of the other and many more. These breathtaking and jaw dropping performances will leave you wondering how did they do it?
This is a must see show and an opportunity to see authentic real Kung Fu in action especially for the martial arts fans!
Our Parenting World team is very honoured to interview the cast of Shaolin and to find out more about them. The above are the 5 young Shaolin masters with ages ranging from 4 to 20 years old. They shared with our team that they started learning Kung Fu at a very young age, no doubt, it has been tough learning Kung Fu but once they are familiar with it, the learning process will be less difficult. They enjoy learning Kung Fu and performing, they would like to encourage the audience to come watch them perform. Audience will enjoy watching this exciting show!
Our Parenting World team is very honoured to interview the Shaolin Master, Heng Song where he shared with us that he started learning Kung Fu when he was 8 to 9 years old. He has been performing and bringing the Shaolin cast to perform since the ’90s for many years. When asked what can audience in Singapore expect to see from the show, he mentioned that for martial arts lovers, this is an opportunity to see the rare stunts performed by the Shaolin masters that audience will enjoy watching and audience will also have a better understanding of Shaolin Temple and its martial arts. He welcome audience to come and visit the Shaolin Temple to learn more about its origins and the history of its martial arts. Lastly, the show will appeal to all and especially if you like Kung Fu and he would like to wish the best for all in Singapore!
