As it embarks on an exciting new journey to transform into the Singapore Oceanarium, the aquarium is commemorating its incredible legacy with a special anniversary campaign, 12 Years of Creating Wonder, running from 8 March to 30 April 2025.
Celebrate 12 Years of Marine Wonder with Special Discovery Zones
Over the years, S.E.A. Aquarium has strengthened its commitment to marine education, conservation, and research, inspiring countless visitors to appreciate and protect the ocean. To commemorate this milestone, guests can explore our specially curated zones, each highlighting a different aspect of the aquarium’s impact.
Wall of Fame: Honoring Milestones
Visitors can walk through the Wall of Fame, showcasing S.E.A. Aquarium’s record-breaking achievements, including its Guinness World Record as the world’s largest aquarium to the launch of the Aquarist Lab – an aquatic nursery where juvenile Sea Jellies, Seahorses, Clownfish, and more are grown and nurtured. The aquarium has also played a key role in rehabilitating rescued Sea Turtles, creating a conducive environment for the miracle births of two baby Zebra Sharks (born without a male shark), and the launch of the Children’s Biodiversity Library by S.E.A. Aquarium, as part of a partnership with the National Library Board – where children can learn and be inspired by marine biodiversity.
Treasures of Curios: Conservation & Research Highlights
The Treasures of Curios zone offers a closer look about the key events in S.E.A. Aquarium’s ongoing efforts in research and conservation. Among them is a successful breeding programme of the critically endangered Bowmouth Guitarfish and S.E.A. Aquarium’s first-ever underwater Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing with the Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU-EOS), that inaugurated a two-year research collaboration on climate resilience and marine conservation. Guests can also learn about the aquarium’s beach cleanup initiatives that removed more than 1,000kg of trash from Singapore’s shores last year. In addition, interactive elements such as a motion-sensor lightbox allow visitors to uncover fascinating animals that live in the intertidal zone, like the Cake Sand Dollar, Horn-eyed Ghost Crab, and Haddon’s Carpet Anemone.
Marine Mirage: An Immersive Animal Care Experience
The Marine Mirage zone invites guests to experience and bring animal care to the forefront with immersive sensory and tactile exhibits, offering guests a closer look at the fascinating world of marine life. Featuring species such as Zebra Sharks and Sea Jellies, the exhibit highlights the dedication of S.E.A. Aquarium aquarists through personal stories about their experiences caring for these animals. Guests can also engage with replicas that mimic the surprising textures of marine animals at the touch stations —from the spiky exterior of a Sea Urchin to the unexpectedly smooth, soap-like skin of a Cownose Ray.
Ocean Oracle: Junior Ocean Detective for Young Explorers
At the Ocean Oracle zone, young guests aged 7–12 can participate in the Junior Ocean Detective program, using various lenses and interactive viewfinders, they can investigate marine facts about animal relationships; from predator-prey relationships to symbiotic partnerships where animals benefit from one another.

As part of its ongoing transformation into the Singapore Oceanarium, S.E.A. Aquarium is partnering with Arts & Disability Singapore (ART:DIS) to create a special three-part artwork series titled Evolving Oceans: A Symphony of Life. This triptych will symbolise transformation, marine biodiversity, and community engagement, bridging the past, present, and future.
Leading the creative vision of this collaboration is Eugene Soh, a differently abled artist known for his ethereal and textured paintings. Inspired by Impressionist masters, Eugene channels his passion for marine life into a unique artistic expression. The first piece of this remarkable artwork series will be on display for guests to appreciate during the anniversary campaign.
Guests are invited to join in complimentary marine-themed art workshops led by ART:DIS during the anniversary campaign, where they will colour marine animals, which will contribute to the Evolving Oceans: A Symphony of Life art series. Sign-ups will be available inside the aquarium, and participation is subject to workshop capacity limitations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Celebrate with the Aquarium’s Mascots and Exclusive Offers
Adding to the celebration, guests can look forward to daily mascot meet-and-greet sessions, where S.E.A. Aquarium’s beloved manta ray trio, Mika, Manja and Mako, and Sam the Hammerhead Shark will make special appearances.
For guests looking to fuel up during their visit, a special anniversary menu will be available, which includes a Grilled Cheese Sandwich & Hearty Tomato Soup, a Little Grain Bowl, and the classic Hotdog. Each meal retails at $12 when purchased with a drink.
