Our Parenting World team was invited to attend the launch of the new Atrium Restaurant, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium recently.

If you are a fan of buffet dinner, I believe you have heard of “Melting Pot Cafe” at Holiday Inn previously. The buffet was very popular among Singaporeans because they have a good variety of dishes there. When we heard that the new Atrium Restaurant is the revamped Melting Pot Cafe, we have very high expectations of the restaurant.
Did it meet our expectation? Definitely Yes!

Atrium Restaurant is the newly revamped all-day dining restaurant boasting a brand new interior design and a delicious line-up of signature dishes created by the new Executive Chef Chua Yew Hock.
We met Executive Chef Chua who is the head chef for the restaurant. He has a delicious line-up of signature dishes which include Singapore Chilli Crab, Assam Curry Snapper Fillet, Mussels Otah-Otah and Laksa which are all very impressive!

The crabs are huge and tasty, especially if you eat together with the fried mantou (small chinese buns). The assam curry snapper fillet is mouth watering with heavenly aroma that goes very well with rice too. Each mussel is filled with otah and the presentation is very unique and of course tasty! This is the first time we have seen otah being presented in this way. The laksa is rich filled with thick and tasty broth that goes well with the silky noodles will surely make you come back for more.
Words and pictures don’t mean anything until you have tasted Executive Chef Chua’s signature dishes to find out how good and lip-smacking delicious his dishes are.
In addition to Executive Chef Chua’s signature dishes, Atrium Restaurant also features a wide range of a delicious international buffet spread, sushi, sashimi and dessert.
There is also a “Kids corner” at the buffet spread, catering specially for the younger family members. It comes with kid’s utensils and even colour pencils and colouring books to entertain the little guests.
Look how happy Di Di is enjoying his food at the restaurant.
The boys are so excited to see Executive Chef Chua in person and he is very friendly. He told the boys that he will bring them to the kitchen and learn cooking. Thumbs up to the lovely organisers, Executive Chef Chua Yew Hock, Atrium Restaurant and Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium for the impressive food and warm hospitality!
We will definitely be back at the restaurant and also bring our overseas relatives who will be visiting us during Christmas holidays to try out the wide range of delicious local and international food!
Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is so thoughtful to the little guests and they have their own Kids Check In. How cool is that!

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has also partnered with Nutrition Australia to develop healthy meals for kids at Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts to be rolled out throughout Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) next year in 2015.
InterContinental Hotels Group announced the exclusive partnership with Nutrition Australia, a non-profit organisation that inspires healthy eating through nutrition education, information and advisory services, to create a revamped kids’ menu featuring healthier food options for its Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts.
Nutrition Australia will develop 26 appetiser and main meal options, 10 dessert options and 10 drink options, and this will be launched in 2015 across Holiday Inn hotels across Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) to provide kids on holiday a much healthier meal time option. All the main meals in the menu will provide a nutritious balance of vegetables, meat and wholegrain foods, plus fruit or dairy where relevant. Importantly, the menu will provide a variety of colours, flavours and textures to help kids have fun and enjoy healthy eating.
Phil Broad, Vice President of Food & Beverage, IHG said: “A big part of any family holiday is the food your kids eat. With this new partnership, we’ll be able to provide a wider variety of healthy options for kids – much more than just the standard burgers, pastas and chips – options which are going to be more nutritious, whilst presented in a fun way
Lucinda Hancock, Executive Officer, Nutrition Australia Victorian Division said: “Good nutrition is essential for good health at all ages. For children, it is particularly important because healthy eating habits are often formed during childhood. It’s great to see Holiday Inn taking the initiative to ensure there are nutritious, delicious and fun foods available for kids to enjoy when holidaying, and we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting collaboration.”
Guests can book rooms and make the most of the ‘Kids Eat & Stay Free’* programme at the Holiday Inn website www.holidayinn.com.
