This school holidays, if you are thinking of how to keep your children occupied, Holiday Inn team has put together some ideas for you to spend a more meaningful holiday with your family.
While traditional school holiday travel celebrations may not be possible this year, families can still create a memorable experience for the children without leaving home. Parents who need more ideas to keep their children engaged at home during the Circuit Breaker, and now school holidays, get ready to enter a world of make-believe with Holiday Inn® and its signature Glamp Inn experience. With the kids (and kids at heart!) at home, it’s an easy feat to recreate the magic of Glamp Inn with everyday items around the home, some help from the kids and a little imagination. What better way to create a special activity for mom to enjoy with the kids (or for dad to keep the kids occupied while mom takes some time to herself!)?
As one of the leading hotel brands for families and taking the much-loved Kids Stay and Eat free® promise to new heights, Holiday Inn designed the below at home activity to help families reconnect with some child-like fun.
The concept was launched in Australia last year with furniture partner, Temple & Webster (Australia), where families were able to book a package across selected hotels across the region.
Although the package isn’t available right now see below some tips and tricks to make your own Glamp Inn experience at home.
Step 1: Choose a colour palette. You can get creative with what you have in the home, or, if you want to replicate one of the Holiday Inn Glamp Inn looks, sift through the four prepared looks below using Temple & Webster (Australia).
Step 2: Find a cosy spot in your house – hint: Holiday Inn recommends finding a brightly-lit spot near windows or, gather house plants into a corner of a room and start setting the scene for an indoor ‘outdoor’ experience. This is where you’ll set up camp!
Step 3: Gather your Glamp Inn items. Ideally, you’ll need some pillows and cushions; a thick blanket; soft toys; your favourite books; a throw rug.
Step 4: Start with the rug to create your base. Circular rugs work best, but any will do.
Step 5: If you’ve got a tee-pee (great!) you’ve got a big head start. If not, we can create one using a large cotton bedsheet (with funky designs preferred) as the canopy and recreate using tent poles or bamboo poles using a suitable space. This may be draped over a dining table, desk or sturdy area. Adult-supervision is recommended.
Step 6: Now it’s the fun part! Gather up your items from step 3 and start to decorate your space. Scatter the pillows inside along with the soft toys and cosy rugs to create a comfortable space. Fill with your favourite books or activities for the coolest hangout!
Step 7: Lastly, what are some activities you can do at glamp? We recommend entertaining your kids with black and white printouts from Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium for a short colouring activity, and order in from Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre for a truly dine and glamp experience!
