Ho ho ho … Christmas is coming! Enjoy the festive season and indulge in the Christmas spirit at Poinsettia Wishes – floral display at Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay from 8 November 2019 to Sunday, 5 January!
This Christmas season, enter into the Flower Dome where you will be transported on a whimsical journey through the Nordic countries. The Ambassador of Denmark to Singapore, Her Excellency Dorte Bech Vizard provides the creative direction for this year’s yuletide display, providing a Christmas twist to iconic landmarks in the Nordic region.
You will feel like you are in a Christmas wonderland where you will be able to find distinct architecture of the Bolgen building in Denmark, Santa Claus Village in Finland, Hallgrimskirkja church in Iceland, Vennesla library in Norway and Triangeln train station in Sweden all interwoven remarkably into each scene from Santa’s post office to the reindeer station.
What a beautiful sight with vast landscape of poinsettias and winter blooms in shades of red, blue, yellow and white! What’s more, you will be charmed with a choir of Nordic gnomes called Nisse that adds more joy to the festive cheer.

Additional Information
‘Tis the season to be giving, so why not make this Christmas one with a difference, and swing by Gardens by the Bay to show your support for inclusive performances? While you’re at it, how about donating a toy (or two) to a good cause? As part of Inclusive Christmas at Gardens by the Bay, Gardens by the Bay is running a series of yuletide programmes which will revolve round the theme of inclusivity, beginning December 20 until Christmas day.
Visitors can look forward to free daily performances outside Flower Dome featuring acts such as visually-impaired singer and guitarist Daniel Ng from Very Special Arts, pianist Benjamin Chong from the Inclusive Arts Movement, and special needs choir Singapore Special Voices. Supporting these performers are home-grown groups such as Human Jingle Bells, who use bells of all manner to make music, the Lion City Brass Band, and The Salvation Army Band.
Gardens by the Bay is also partnering with The Salvation Army on a gift donation drive that will benefit the needy. Members of the public can bring along their pre-loved toys – in good condition of course! – and drop them off at the collection point near the ticketing counters at The Canopy. These items will retail at Salvation Army’s Family Stores and proceeds will go towards supporting The Salvation Army’s caring work in the community.
Complementing these activities are meet-and-greet sessions with Santa Claus at Flower Dome amidst the Poinsettia Wishes floral display, as well as with the Gardens’ beloved mascot Wise Wee at Golden Garden, the Canopy and Flower Dome. On December 20, there will also be a live marching band featuring characters such as toy soldiers and elves performing classic Christmas songs in an upbeat, jazzy style from the Golden Garden at the Main Entrance all the way to The Canopy at Flower Dome.
