Marina Mandarin Salmon Yu Sheng with Mixed Fruits
What is Lunar New Year meal without Yu Sheng? Eating Yu Sheng has become an important cultural activity for Chinese in Singapore and Malaysia when celebrating Lunar New Year. It is considered to be a lucky delicacy to be served which will bring good luck and prosperity to diners for the coming year.
At Peach Blossoms, it serves a very unique Yu Sheng dish with fruits. It comes with fresh salmon with fruits consisting of Rock Melon, Mango, Jackfruit, Kiwi, Pomelo and Strawberry.
This is a very colourful Yu Sheng dish with a variety of mixed fruits and when tossed together with all the ingredients and dressings, the taste is very refreshing and it blends well giving a right balance of flavours and textures from different fruits, fresh salmon and crunchiness from the crackers.
Barbecued Whole Suckling Pig
This sucking pig is really impressive when being served and comes with softly made crepes. It reminds us of Peking Duck where we will wrap the duck skin with crepe.
The suckling pig skin is so crispy that you can hear the crunch with every bite, combine with spring onions, sweet sauce and wrapped around with the soft crepe, it is absolutely delicious! It also taste as good when you eat the skin on its own.
Double-boiled Kampung Chicken Soup with Premium Matsutake Mushroom
This soup is full of nutritional goodness and tasty as Matsutake is well known to be the Japanese truffle which provide great flavours to the soup. It is a warm and comforting soup that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Steamed Silver Cod with Black Garlic and Grains
The steamed silver cod fish together with black garlic is very fresh and has a sweet, succulent taste. The meat is so soft that it simply melts in your mouth.
Baked Boston Lobster with Creamy Salted Egg Yolk and Cheese
Salted egg yolk is in the craze now with many dishes featuring this version. This is the first time we have tried lobster with salted egg yolk. The lobster meat is generously drizzled with flavourful creamy sauce consisting of salted egg yolk and melted cheese. This version is impressive, a must try!
Fragrant Smoked Chicken
The chicken comes with a nice, delicate smoky aroma crafted by Chef and is perfectly cooked with the meat remains moist, juicy and very tender.
Claypot Rice with Chinese Sausage and Preserved Meat in “Hong Kong” Style
Claypot rice is a traditional and authentic Cantonese cuisine from Hong Kong. The tasty preserved meats complements well with the soft texture of the fragrant claypot rice. This is usually regarded as an auspicious dish for Lunar New Year.
Pan-fried Purple Sweet Potato Nian Gao accompanied with Chilled Coconut Jelly with Mango Puree served with Coconut Ice-cream.
A refreshing, sweet dessert to end a satisfying meal and of course a Chinese New Year dessert cannot be completed without having Nian Gao or Sweetcakes. It is considered good luck to eat Nian Gao during Chinese New Year that will bring an auspicious meaning of having a “Higher” year ahead!
