The vOilah! French Film Festival continues to enrich the cultural landscape in Singapore, and this year, it is making French cinema more accessible to Singaporeans of all ages than ever before!
From 14 to 30 November 2024, the festival will partner with the People’s Association to host free screenings of PG-rated films and animations at 15 community centres nationwide. This is a great opportunity for families to create last memories together by immersing in the magic of storytelling through a selection of French cinema that span children-friendly movies and heartwarming family films!
Families can look forward to titles such as Epic Tails (Argonuts), an enchanting journey through Ancient Greece by a brave mouse and her feline friend; Chicken for Linda!, a delightful story about a mother’s determination to cook her daughter a special meal and Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia, a heartwarming story about friendship and exploration.

In addition, this year’s line-up features a total of 36 films comprising those fresh from the box office and the timeless classics that shaped the face of French cinema. The selection includes a rich array of genres — from chart-topping blockbusters, hilarious comedies, blood-pumping adventure tales, wholesome family stories and more.
To further engage Singaporeans, the festival will be hosting sessions with aspiring filmmakers in Singapore. Three French actors and directors- Franck Dubosc, Camille Razat, and Mélanie Robert- will be coming to Singapore to attend select screenings, providing filmgoers the opportunity to ask questions about their experience and perspectives on the films.
The festival will close with a special joint screening of Singaporean director Eric Khoo’s Spirit World, co-presented by the vOilah! French Film Festival and the Singapore International Film Festival. A French-Singapore co-production starring legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve, the film embodies the strong cultural cooperation between the two countries, showcasing a fusion of artistic perspectives and storytelling traditions to connect with audiences across cultures.
