Established in 2016 as a tribute to the renowned Seng Choong Confectionery of the 1960s, Old Seng Choong is renowned for traditional bakes and cakes, making it an essential destination for delightful indulgences on any joyous occasion. The passion for delectable treats reaches new heights as the highly anticipated annual Mid-Autumn Festival makes its return. Old Seng Choong commemorates the festival by introducing a unique selection of new exquisite flavours like Yam with Olive Kernel and Pandan Pulut Hitam, in addition to bringing back some of the beloved classics  due to popular demand.

The Chinese cultural event known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, referred to as Zhong Qiu Jie (中秋节 in Mandarin), is an age-old observance that occurs each year on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. Its origins can be traced back to the conclusion of the autumn harvest season, during which families convene beneath the radiant full moon to celebrate and give thanks for the abundance yielded by their harvest efforts.

At the heart of the festivities shines the mooncake, a circular confection crafted from layers of rich red bean or lotus seed filling encased within a lusciously baked, golden-brown baked crust. The mooncake symbolises the emblem of familial togetherness and unity, encapsulating the very spirit of this occasion. It is a cherished gift, often exchanged to convey heartfelt well-wishes and affectionate sentiments.
