In a lighthearted moment, Wei Li-An addressed Singapore’s famously humid weather with a humorous touch. Explaining his choice of a sleeveless outfit, he quipped, “The venue may be cool, but your enthusiasm is what’s keeping me warm!” His sense of fun shone through as he continued, jokingly flexing his arms while singing and saying, “I hope you appreciate the effort I put into showing off my arms tonight. If you didn’t notice, I’d be sad!” His playful banter not only lightened the mood but also endeared him to the crowd, creating a personal connection with his fans.
One of the standout moments of Wei Li-An’s performance was his tender rendition of Stefanie Sun’s hit song (遇见). This particular performance carried a deeper significance, as he shared the touching story of two fans, one from Hong Kong and the other from Singapore, who met at one of his concerts and maintained a long-distance relationship. The couple is now getting married, and Wei Li-An dedicated the song to them, revealing that it was the first time he performed (遇见) in seven years, making the tribute even more meaningful.
As his performance came to a close, Wei Li-An gave a glimpse of his packed schedule, mentioning that he would fly to Changsha, China, immediately after the concert to continue filming Call Me By Fire 4 (披荆斩棘4). Despite the demands of his packed calendar, his passion for music remained undiminished, and he took a moment to thank his fans for their unwavering support. Ella shared her joy at returning to Singapore after nine years, reminiscing about a thoughtful fan who greeted her at the airport with Kaya toast from Ya Kun and how she had four soft-boiled eggs for breakfast, small yet meaningful moments that made her feel welcomed. In a nostalgic tribute to Mandopop’s golden era, Ella performed Stefanie Sun’s (天黑黑), expressing her admiration for the singer’s sincerity and emotional style. She reflected on the period when artists like Stefanie Sun, Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, and her own group, S.H.E., dominated the charts, saying, “I feel so lucky to have been part of that era.”
Ella’s songs list also included timeless classics such as (花心), (用心良苦), and (你知道我在等你吗), as well as her own solo hits and beloved S.H.E. tracks like (热带雨林), 《中国话》, and more.
