Highlights of the Chinese New Year Set Menu:
Welcome the Year of the Dog!
“Lo Hei” to Prosperity, Abundance and Good Fortunate at Peach Blossoms with its Prosperity Salmon Yusheng with Nashi Pear filled with wholesome goodness of fresh salmon, shredded vegetables, fruits and a variety of seasoning, sauces and condiments.
We had a good time tossing together. Most importantly, the Yu Sheng is very fresh, crunchy and tasty. Simply awesome!
Double-boiled Abalone Soup with Kurobuta Ribs, Dried Scallop and Nagaimo
Nothing beats a warm, comforting bowl of nourishing soup especially it has been raining a lot these days in Singapore. This soup is addictive and highly nutritious with prime ingredients like abalone, kurobuta ribs, dried scallop which make the soup even more flavourful.
Steamed Sea Perch with Ham, Ginger and Scallion served on Lotus Leaf
This steamed sea perch is so fresh and fish is always a healthy dish that is filled with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins. This is an excellent dish where you can enjoy it on its own and good to accompany with rice too.
Wok-fried Lobster coated with Creamy Lemon, Sweet Corn and Crispy Rice
We were amazed when this dish was presented, did you notice the golden crispy rice? We have not seen anything like this before. Many of us took pictures before eating this delightful dish. The lobster is very fresh, moist and succulent juicy. You can taste the sweetness of the lobster meat with added flavour from the creamy lemon coupled by the crunchiness of the sweet corn and the golden crispy rice.
Wok-fried Fragrant Rice with Foie Gras and Wax Sausage served in Mini Pumpkin
Same for this dish when it was presented to us, we were so impressed, the presentation of this dish is so unique and creative. How about the taste? The rice is very aromatic, well mixed with the flavourful foie gras, wax sausage and served in a pretty, baby pumpkin. It is so good that we polished every grain of the rice.
Double-boiled Hashima with Honey Locust Fruit and Peach Gum (Top) accompanied with Pan-fried Purple Sweet Potato Nian Gao (Bottom)
Having dessert is a good way to round off a hearty meal. Double-boiled Hashima with Honey Locust Fruit and Peach Gum is a delicious and healthy bowl of dessert and hashima is good for health as it helps to improve memory and strengthen the immune system.
A must-have dessert for Chinese New Year, has to be Nian Gao or rice cake, known for its auspicious meaning of 年年高升 that is wishing for an advance towards higher positions and prosperity, getting higher year on year! The Pan-fried Purple Sweet Potato Nian Gao is chewy, not so sweet and a delight to pop into your mouth.
