Celebrate and welcome the Year of the Golden Rooster at the heart of Chinatown!
This year, audience can expect to look forward to live performances by Mediacorp artistes, performers from China, interactive games before ending the evening with spectacular display of firecrackers and fireworks at midnight where we officially welcome the Year of the Golden Rooster.
Our Parenting World team attended the Chinatown Chinese New Year 2017 Countdown Party held at New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street from 9.30pm till past midnight. Here are some of the highlights at the Countdown Party:
Chen Jianbin (L), Zhou Chongqing (M) and Mark Lee (R), the three of them liven up the show with their hosting, singing and with their comical talents, they brought laughter to the audience throughout the show.
Audience were thrilled to hear Mediacorp artists Tay Ping Hui (L) and Zoe Tay (R) sing and performed festive songs at the Countdown party.
Liang Ximei is back!
Director Jack Neo is back to reprise his famous and iconic role as Liang Ximei to celebrate and bring Chinese New Year greetings to all!

Chinatown Chinese New Year 2017 Countdown Party is organised by the Kreta Ayer – Kim Seng Citizens Consultative Committee (KA-KS CCC). The event was graced by Assoc Prof Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information & Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Ms Denise Phua Lay Peng, Mayor, Central Singapore District and Dr Lily Neo, Adviser to Jalan Besar GRC GROs (Kreta Ayer – Kim Seng).
Towards the stroke of midnight, everyone gathered and waited in anticipation to welcome the Year of the Rooster with Firecrackers and Fireworks!
Firecrackers were set to welcome the Year of the Rooster!
The finale of the countdown party ended with a dazzling and magnificent display of Firecrackers and Fireworks!
