A masterful blend of impactful storytelling and a dazzling display of lights
At the heart of the festivities lies the magnificent Starlit Dragon Spectacular, a captivating show where an 88-metre dragon will guide guests through an auspicious trail across RWS on selected dates.
Follow the majestic Starlit Dragon as it passes dazzling festive displays including the 10-metre LED Pyramid of Prosperity and Rising Abundance hot air balloon, before arriving at the extravagantly adorned Lake of Dreams. There, the God of Fortune and Fu Lu Shou will welcome the dragon and hand out chocolate gold coins, sharing blessings of the New Year with guests.
On 29 January, the first day of CNY, a breathtaking eight-minute spectacle called A Lunar Extravaganza: New Horizons will unfold, featuring an Erhu soloist, Dagon Poi performers, LED drummers and modern dancers. The stunning show will complement the entrance of the Starlit Dragon, telling a tale of balance and harmony, and setting the stage for a year of transformation and unity.
The festive celebrations peak on 30 January, the second day of CNY with an exhilarating Roar of Fortune lion dance performance by award-winning troupe Yiwei Athletic Association.

Watch S.E.A. Aquarium come to live with dazzling decorations that beautifully blend the wonders of marine life with the joy and traditions of the season.
Honour diversity and inclusivity in art with ART:DIS
In a special collaboration with ART:DIS, a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to creating learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities in the arts; children can take part in free marine-themed upcycling craft lantern workshops. These workshops, intended to bring the community together to experience art in an inclusive way, are conducted by ART:DIS over two weekends – on 25 and 26 January as well as 1 and 2 February. Sign-ups will be available inside the aquarium, and participation is subject to workshop capacity limitations on a first-come, first-served basis.
In the spirit of art and festivities, ART:DIS artists have also handcrafted exclusive marine-themed chopstick holders that are perfect for reunion dinners. Celebrate the festivities with an underwater dragon dance presentation, manta mascot appearances, complimentary goodies and themed treats
The Underwater Dragon Dance Presentation, a highly anticipated festive favourite among guests of all ages, will return to Open Ocean Habitat every day at 3.30pm from 22 January to 16 February 2025. The skilled and experienced aquarist team from S.E.A. Aquarium will bring a vibrant and resplendent underwater dragon to life with graceful swimming and coordination.
Fans of Mika and Manja, the manta rays, can look forward to spotting one of the beloved mascots decked out in their traditional Chinese New Year outfits. Alternating between Mika and Manja, the mascots will make their daily appearance at 12pm and 4pm during weekdays, and at 12pm, 3pm and 4pm on weekends.
Guests born in the year of the Snake are eligible to redeem a complimentary popcorn voucher at the ticketing counter, while stocks last. Guests must present a valid form of identification at the ticketing counter to redeem their voucher and can redeem the popcorn at Ocean Bites, inside the aquarium.
