We were recently invited to Brother’s launch of its new ScanNCut machine where we will get crafty and spend some dedicated hands-on time to personalise something unique.
Introducing the new Brother’s ScanNCut machine CM550DX, the compact sleek looking home and hobby cutting machine, is a revolutionary product with built-in 300dpi (dots per inch) scanner. It is the first for arts and crafts, quilting and DIY market.
Many of the crafting enthusiastic will be excited with the launch of this new Brother’s product!
Not only the adults are enthusiastic about the machine even the children, Gor Gor and his friend are so excited about doing their own custom made products. The two of them use their creativity and worked on various designs together.
As for Mummy, it is great to see her Mummy friends at the workshop and get to do craft work together 🙂
This innovative machine can transform scanned images into unique cutting designs and projects. You don’t have to use a computer, software, or any pricey cartridges. You can use it to make unique and personal scrapbooks, greeting cards, quilts, and stunning one-of-a-kind crafts.
The new Brother ScanNCut home and hobby cutting machine allows you to:
See it – Pictures, sketches, drawings or paintings can be visualised as a creative project whether for print or online
Scan it – Scan photos, printouts or sketches with the 300 dpi built-in scanner
Cut it – Choose any material – paper, fabric, vinyl – press a button, then cut it perfectly
Create it – Showcase your beautifully-cut designs in all arts-and-crafts projects
It is relatively easy to use. At the workshop, we have hands on experiences of how to use the machine and guess what did we make? Our very own custom made fancy greetings cards.
We first experimented with Brother ScanNCut built-in patterns at the workshop. The machine also gives you the flexibility to create your own text and designs if you wish. After selecting the designs, we placed our coloured papers on the Standard Mat (which is adhesive to ensure the papers are in place), scan it through to ensure the papers are align to the patterns on the screen. This is to ensure the design falls in place with the coloured papers, and the machine can cut it out accordingly and not on the mat.
Once the machine has finished cutting the design out, we will use the spatula given to peel off the design to stick it to our greeting card. Brother’s helpful and friendly instructor helping Gor Gor with his greeting card.
“This is how the completed greeting cards look like, aren’t they beautiful?”
It is amazing how Brother ScanNCut machine can churn out beautiful and unique custom made design.
