The ArtScience Museum in Singapore commemorated its 14th birthday with the opening of its landmark learning centre, ushering in an exciting new chapter for the institution. Named ArtScience Laboratory, the 320-square-meter permanent learning centre is located on Basement 2. This innovative space is designed to immerse visitors in the convergence of art, science, and technology, offering interactive workshops and multidisciplinary learning experiences.

Building upon over a decade of experience and expertise in art-science education, the ArtScience Laboratory challenges conventional classroom methodologies. It provides a dynamic platform where participants can delve into new ideas and technologies through hands-on workshops rooted in STEAM education—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. These programs cater to a diverse audience, including students, educators, families, and members of both local and international communities, fostering an environment that nurtures creativity and innovation.
Visitors can look forward to engaging in a variety of activities across the Media Lab, Ripple Room and Launch Pad. The spaces are also versatile and dynamic, with a curtain in the centre that allows the zones to be partitioned further for various uses
The programmes offered at ArtScience Laboratory are organised into five distinct themes incorporating inspiring workshops, creative activities, engineering explorations, sustainability initiatives and wellness sessions. From celebrating figures who combine art and science in their work, to exploring these topics through a mix of emerging digital technologies and more traditional hands-on practices, the activities will highlight the importance of a holistic approach to learning.
