This festive season, Downtown East (DE) invites you to immerse in the most adorable and enchanting holiday yet, as the lifestyle destination transforms into a panda wonderland from 15 Nov 2024 to 12 Feb 2025. Taking centrestage at E!Avenue Event Square is an experiential bamboo forest maze that will spark curiosity, learning, and excitement for families with children. Admission is free.
This 75m installation, which combines play with purpose, incorporates 12 engaging activity zones crafted to be tactile, interactive, and visually captivating. Each zone is thoughtfully designed to impart fascinating insights into the world of bamboo and pandas, creating a playful yet educational experience for young adventurers.
In a delightful storyline brought to life within the maze, adventurers follow the “Magic Bamboo Scroll” on Panda’s quest to find his family in a playful game of hide and seek. This narrative weaves together elements of warmth, togetherness, and discovery, capturing the fun-loving and endearing personalities of Panda and his family members – Sister, Papa, Mama, Grandpa, and Grandma. Each character adds a lively and heartwarming touch to the experience, inviting visitors to explore, learn, and connect through an enchanting journey that celebrates family bonds and the beauty of nature.
Journey in the maze
From 29 Nov 2024 to 12 Feb 2025, visitors can look forward to foam obstacles; a ball pit; a mirror maze; cute photo ops and hands-on activity areas within the maze.
These areas include:
- A chalkboard doodle wall
- A life-sized bamboo xylophone
- A weight balancing scale
- An interactive wall of black & white balls that can be rotated to form imagery
- Rotating Build-A-Bear blocks for the kiddos to match and form different bears
Meet & greet
But that’s not all. Don’t miss the chance to meet the beloved panda mascot during one of 10 special appearances – on 13, 14, 20, and 21 Dec at 7pm and 8pm, and on Christmas Eve at 12pm and 1pm. Join them as they tour DE, spreading joy and handing out heart-shaped candies for a delightful holiday treat.
In the meantime, DE and D’Resort will also be decked with adorable 3D pandas till 12 Feb 2025, expanding your festive photo collection.
Adding to the festive ambiance, melodious carolling by a cappella group Urban Harmony will fill the air on 14 and 21 Dec at 7pm and 8pm, setting a wondrous scene for families and friends to embrace the spirit of the season. Don’t miss out on engaging performances by gifted 2-piece bands on 13 and 20 Dec at 3pm. Visitors can also enjoy live performances by Ageless Bridge, the talented U Live ambassadors and ukulele players, as they captivate audiences with their music on 13 and 20 Dec at 7pm and 8pm, and 15, 22, and 24 Dec at 12pm and 1pm.

For movie enthusiasts, Cathay Cineplexes (#04-106, E!Hub) at DE is exclusively hosting a rerun of Kung Fu Panda 4, bringing the excitement of the beloved franchise back to life on the big screen – be it for those who missed it, or fans who can’t get enough!
In Dec 2024 and Jan 2025, one movie slot will be available each week at DE. Show times on Cathay Cineplexes’ website.

Panda-stic Day Out with Panda Pals

Gallop Stable (#01-200, D’Resort) offers a heartwarming opportunity for families to bond with animals and nature.
A twist to the popular Stable Experience, Panda-stic Day Out with Panda Pals is a 30-minute adventure that includes a guided stable tour, a horse/pony joy ride* and pony feeding; and a panda-design window art for young artists to unleash their creativity.
