Organised by Peace of Art, the event brings Singapore’s vibrant kampung spirit and culture to life – uniting generations. In addition to a plethora of eco-friendly workshops, sustainably made products and delectable food stalls that have become the hallmark of the Sustainable Christmas Market, two key initiatives have been launched to promote compassion and collaboration within our community.
1. KIDSforKIDS – A NEW ADDITION – INVITES BUDDING KID-PRENEURS TO PARTICIPATE
At the heart of this year’s event, a new segment has been added to the Sustainable Christmas Market. KIDSforKIDS aims to empower and raise a generation of givers and changemakers. The market invites kid-prenuers to young entrepreneurs (aged 3-21 years) to set up their stalls at the market to sell eco-conscious products, lead workshops, exhibit their creative artworks for sale or perform at the KIDSforKIDS showcase.
KIDSforKIDS booth applications are open from now till 15 October 2024. More information can be found here.
2. DECLUTTER & DONATE: COLLECTION FROM 1 OCT – 1 NOV 100% Impact
Returning this year is the nationwide campaign to collect preloved items, including:
♻ Toys
♻ Kids’ books
♻ Luxury fashion and accessories
♻ Tech devices
All items will be curated for sale at the preloved bazaar at the Christmas Market.
Details on the campaign and drop-off locations can be found here.
100% Impact
100% of the sales proceeds and donations for the Sustainable Christmas Market, including the KIDSforKIDS and Declutter & Donate initiatives, directly aid the beneficiary.
Peace of Art’s Ethos: The Democratisation of Philanthropy
Peace of Art empowers individuals and businesses to fundraise for the underprivileged through unique events like the Sustainable Christmas Market. The Democratisation of Philanthropy encourages people from all backgrounds to contribute to societal welfare. The Sustainable Markets signify a shift in charitable giving from an exclusive, top-down approach to an inclusive, impactful and community-focused one.
Mrs Eunice Yeo, Founder of Peace of Art, said, “More than just an event, the Sustainable Christmas Market is a transformative movement that gives every Singaporean a chance to be a fundraiser for the underprivileged. It is charitable giving that showcases the power of collective action, embodying the true spirit of community and shared responsibility – our kampung spirit! The art of sustainable living is living a good life but sustainably. Even the littlest can be a giver and a changemaker. We hope to inspire individuals from all walks of life to participate and join us as we give every child a chance regardless of background or circumstance.”
This year’s event aims to raise over S$350,000 for the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts programme, which provides academic support and mentorship for children living in Singapore’s public rental flats. If successful, this would bring Peace of Arts’ total fundraising to over S$1 million since its first Sustainable Christmas Wreath Workshop in 2021.
