From interactive games to engaging activities, shoppers at participating UOL Malls — KINEX, United Square, and Velocity@Novena Square — can immerse themselves in various green initiatives from 26 July to 25 August 2024.
Throughout this event period, U-POPP (UOL’s Power of Purchase Program) members can look forward to participating in fun workshops and redeeming exclusive premiums with minimum spending, all to fuel their sustainable lifestyle journey. Members can also earn extra POPPoints when they shop at participating green retailers during this period. Whether it’s learning about recycling, exploring eco-friendly products, or participating in educational workshops, the campaign seeks to encourage everyone to contribute to a greener future.
Roving Exhibition: Explore Endless Possibilities for An Eco-Friendly Lifestyle
Themed ‘Nurture a Sustainable Future’, the campaign, which features a roving exhibition, emphasises the importance of environmental conservation and encourages eco-friendly practices such as recycling in our daily lives. Details of the roving exhibition are as follows:

At the exhibitions, designed to evoke a forest city ambiance, shoppers can explore educational panels about recycling techniques, the journey of waste, and other sustainability insights. They can also participate in interactive games like ‘Know Your Recyclables’ and ‘2 Truths 1 Lie’ to test their knowledge and discover interesting facts about recycling, making the sustainability learning journey exciting and enjoyable for everyone from all walks of life.
Also part of the education zone, the Plant Wall is where shoppers can adopt an extra potted plant by spending a minimum of $30 in a same-day single receipt on the weekends. Potted plants can be redeemed at the respective malls’ atriums on the following dates, on a first-come, first-served basis: KINEX (3 & 4 August 2024); United Square (10 & 11 August 2024); and Velocity@Novena Square (17 & 18 August 2024). Additionally, the Doodle and Pledge Wall invites shoppers to express their creativity and share their pledge for a more sustainable future.
To make learning even more impactful, UOL Malls has partnered with Plastify, an environmental organisation that recycles plastic waste into reusable goods and holds fun, educational workshops. Plastify emphasises community involvement by using donated plastic waste and creating products for the community, fostering a sustainable lifestyle for all. For this partnership, Plastify has designed recycling bins equipped with educational displays, which will be introduced for the first time across all three UOL malls.
As part of the weekend interactive workshops for both children and adults, shoppers can redeem a pass to either the Plastify Interactive Workshop or the Fabric Tote Bag Workshop, with a minimum spend of $60. In the Plastify workshop, participants can create coasters or carabiners from melted and pressed plastic chips. In the Fabric Tote Bag Workshop, participants can personalise tote bags with recycled textiles, providing a fun and creative way to express their style while reducing fabric waste.

As a co-sponsor of the ‘2024 ART-TECH Reshaping: Redefining Cities’ art competition by Tree Art, Singapore’s leading art enrichment provider, UOL Malls will host on-site exhibits during the roving event to showcase top artworks. In collaboration with Futurum Academy and supported by the Youth & Children Education Society Singapore at United Square, this initiative aims to raise awareness and foster a sustainable future for the community. Shoppers can immerse themselves in these captivating pieces and draw inspiration, as the exhibition’s theme focuses on environmental conservation and the integration of AI technology with art.
Art pieces created with the theme of sustainability in mind and will be displayed around the malls.
At the Eco Fair, shoppers can explore a vibrant selection of eco-friendly and stylish products curated from a variety of brands across the three malls. They can discover everything from chic fashion pieces to cutting-edge gadgets, all designed to meet sustainable living needs.
UOL Malls is also collaborating with Polestar Singapore to showcase their latest EV innovations at United Square Atrium, B1 from 5 to 11 August 2024. In addition to Polestar 2, a cutting-edge 100% electric 5-door fastback, shoppers can explore the future of sustainable mobility with the highly-anticipated special preview of Polestar 4, an electric performance SUV coupé, ahead of its official launch in Q3 2024. Not only is the Polestar 4 the fastest Polestar yet, going from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.8s, it is also the most sustainable — boasting the lowest carbon footprint of all Polestar cars to date.
Spend and Redeem to Save The Environment
The ‘Green Movement With U’ campaign includes initiatives that encourage shoppers to make eco-conscious choices while enjoying exclusive rewards. From 26 July to 25 August 2024, shoppers can participate in spend and redeem activities that promote sustainability throughout the campaign.
With the Donate & Redeem program, U-POPP members are entitled to redeem an exclusive enamel pin and a Shopping E-Voucher for every ten plastic bottle caps they drop off at the customer service counter. Each mall features a unique design, setting members on a pin collection adventure as they visit different locations to complete their sets.

UOL Malls is also offering shoppers additional perks, including workshop passes and membership reward points. They can also redeem exclusive premiums, such as MicroGreens Grow Bags and reusable Collapsible Lunch Boxes in various colours, available at all three malls with a minimum spending. Shoppers can easily enjoy these benefits by spending and signing up as U-POPP members. Moreover, receipts from UOL Malls’ list of green retailers qualify for an extra 100 POPPoints with each submission.
Through the launch of this ‘Green Movement With U’ campaign, UOL Malls aim to raise awareness among shoppers on sustainability, which aligns with UOL Group’s Sustainability Vision of “Less Carbon, More Life” to contribute towards a clean, green and sustainable future. UOL Group is supportive of Singapore’s national climate target to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, as well as the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which outlines Singapore’s targets and strengthens Singapore’s commitments under the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and the Paris Agreement.
In 2023, UOL Group achieved a 20% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions, a 16% decrease in energy consumption, and an 11% drop in water usage across their commercial and hospitality properties, compared with the target baseline year of 2019. These accomplishments are mainly due to a combination of energy efficiency and water conservation measures implemented across our commercial and hospitality properties and lower occupancy rates in our hospitality properties compared with pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
