Boutique Fairs Singapore: The Gifting Edition 2023 makes its biannual comeback with its biggest edition to take place since the pandemic. From 17 to 19 November 2023, over 300 participating brands across 9,300 square metres. Fashion, home decor, health & wellness, F&B, lifestyle, kids and other categories will congregate at the F1 Pit Building to offer a unique and incredibly diverse shopping experience not to be missed. Now in its 21st year, the event saw an astounding vendor interest this round, drawing close to 900 applicants.
Charlotte Cain, Founder of Boutique Fairs Singapore, says, “This edition of Boutique Fairs has seen the most number of applications. Curating the way we live today, and presenting a diverse lifestyle offering that our customers want to buy into, the Gifting Edition returns with a growing collective of over 300 brands – with the best-in-class, independent labels, emerging designers, and rising creatives across culinary, craft, wellness and unique businesses – locally and globally.”
A contingent of brands from Singapore and all around the world to converge
The shopping event will support over 200 new launches, made exclusively available for visitors to browse through. For many of the participating brands, Boutiques will be the only physical retail opportunity and experience for brands to showcase their products, converse and connect with consumers, industry, press and like-minded businesses in-person.
Renowned for its curated selection of design-forward brands, designers, and artisans, The Gifting Edition will feature an extensive range of gifting options available within the two-storey shopper’s paradise, marking the experience as the must-go shopping destination this year-end holiday season. Discover elegant housewarming gifts with the elevated home-living pieces from EDEN Living and Studio YONO, or find the perfect present for your audiophile friends at Decibelist, which crafts aesthetic bespoke speakers handmade in Singapore. Or, snag something for the little ones from The Little Showcase, which stocks a mighty range of toys, books and more that the kids are sure to adore. Bali-based skincare brand, Fields of Yarrow will be introducing a rejuvenated seed to skin line-up as well as launching candles and body care items this time. With the multitude of brands offering exclusive gifts and/or special offers alongside purchases, there’s bound to be something worthwhile to bag home for everyone.
Of the 300 brand-strong collective, 80 brands will come aboard The Gifting Edition for the first time, including minimalist plant store Soilboy, and silk scarf atelier Momme Studio. Homegrown fashion label Good Addition will be joining the fair for the first time and will be retailing their SHU Padded Sandals that were sold out in 7 minutes at launch. Several international brands will also make their Singapore debut here, such as Beam Bold, a Hong Kong-based label offering a vibrant selection of size-inclusive and sustainable resort wear.
These new names join forces with popular brands from previous editions such as Graye, a minimalist clothing brand that advocates versatility and hyper functionality in its designs; Ling Wu, a modernist leather goods company embodying a timeless and refined aesthetic in its bags and accessories; Ashley & Co and Omno, both luxury personal care brands dedicated to enriching one’s well being through quality products; and Thing In Itself, where adornment and art take on self-interpreted meaning in the form of jewellery. Fostering a culture of ingenuity and partnership amongst local businesses, Boutique Fairs Singapore will also feature several collaborative collections such as that of womenswear brand Stolen which is known for their signature backless designs in collaboration with popular local lingerie brand Perk by Kate. The two brands have come together to create the SHEER collection, featuring understated stylish mesh undergarments with complimenting backless outfits.
Expect a holistic lifestyle experience that fosters community and entrepreneurship
A thoughtful shopping experience awaits visitors at The Gifting Edition, with dedicated spaces specially for the men in Indigo room and for the children in Amber room, where a nursing room is also located. Friendly staff members will also be stationed in each room to help visitors find the brands they are looking for.
For a quick respite from the shopping frenzy, shoppers can pop by The Circle at Blue room, which has been converted into a quiet corner furnished with beanbags for shoppers to rest their feet momentarily.
If all that shopping inspired hunger instead, hop over to Japanese-inspired patisserie Nesuto’s pop-up cafe in Scarlet for some quality bakes. Or, stop by the cafe in Breathe for a quick bite at a section of the cafe furnished by HAY, a Danish furniture brand known for their contemporary and stylish designs, in collaboration with alcohol store Whet Your Whistle. There will be no shortage of F&B options all around as shoppers can enjoy coffee offerings in any of the seven rooms, and explore a smorgasbord of gastronomic offerings from a wide selection of F&B brands. Think savoury Indian snacks from Kalkandu, plant-based goodies by ahimsa cafe, and an impressive range of whiskies presented by Ethed Collective in unique sampling Taste Tubes.
In line with its mission to nurture the next generation of designers and brand owners, Boutique Fairs Singapore will be reprising the Young Designers Showcase Grant, an initiative that recognises up-and-coming designers who have yet to show at Boutiques and are between the ages of 18 and 30. Grant recipients will be offered a subsidised physical space at Boutiques and the opportunity to interact with new customer bases and potential partners. Past awardees returning this year include Jenevieve, helmed by Singaporean designer Jenevieve Woon, whose hand-built creations examine the
confluence between art and function in home spaces, and Syne Studio, a local fashion label on a mission to give existing and unused textiles a new lease of life.
Advocating the spirit of giving back, Boutique Fairs Singapore will shine the spotlight on charities, social enterprises, voluntary welfare organisations, and non-profit organisations by way of booth sponsorship, providing them with a platform to engage with the visitor community. Shoppers are encouraged to show their support through purchases, volunteer sign-ups as well as simply spreading the word about their work. In support of organisations that champion female and social empowerment and equal opportunities, participating organisations include Daughters of Tomorrow, Sew Can We, Happiness Initiative and more.
