Now in its 42nd year, SIFA 2019 continues to champion the creation and presentation of Singaporean and international works for diverse audiences. Families specifically can look forward to a curated selection of programmes designed to excite individuals of all ages, even the young so as to cultivate their interest in the arts.

Recommended programme and activities include:

  • Peter and the Wolf

    • Silo Theatre presents a modern adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, using a six-piece band, puppetry, live videography and a local narrator, to stage the musical production that will delight young audiences
    • Family package of 4 available
    • Suitable for audiences age 5 years and above
  • We Can Dance
    • An interactive performance installation which invites audiences to imitate choreography in a recording booth to create a collaborative dance that is projected to reveal the interactions and interpretations of each subsequent participant
    • This is a collaboration between Daily tous les jour and local hip-hop duo, ScRach MarcS
    • The installation is non-ticketed and held at National Library Board atrium
  • De Relaxerette
    • A revolving installation conceived by Dutch artist Arjan Kruidhof, where audiences put headphones on and explore a collection of sounds and stories from Singapore and the Netherlands
    • The installation is non-ticketed and held at two locations, Our Tampines Hub and National Library Building
    • Suitable for children aged 6 years and above
  • Festival Closing Concert
    • This concert is held in closing of SIFA 2019 with Singapore leading vocalists Elena Wang, Julia Abueva, and Sean Ghazi as they perform in an enchanted evening of musical tunes
    • SIFA will also be presenting the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Joshua Tan, presenting a perfect opportunity for favourite tunes to be enjoyed in a full orchestra performance
    • The event is non-ticketed and held at the Singapore Botanic Gardens

Families can also take advantage of ticketing incentives, such as the $10 front-row student ticket initiative launched last year, as well as concessions for students, NSFs, senior citizens and ticket bundle deals.
